Can anyone tell me how the hollow bace Plated bullet preforms compared to the standard "flat" bace bullets? I have Berrys 155gn .400 RNHB I want to load to around 820fps. and 1075fps. with Alliant Power Pistol for my .40 S&W.
Any ideas? I will refer to the Alliant load data of course but the Hollow bace has me at a loss. Thanks for your Ideas

The hollow
base of the bullet is intended to provide a slightly longer bullet for stability as well as offer a "skirt" that forms during firing. The "skirt" is the lead surrounding the hollow base cavity. When fired, gas builds up in the base and forces the "skirt" to expand outwards, making firm contact against the lands & grooves of the rifling.
Look for a Power Pistol powder load for at 155 gr plain base bullet and start with the lowest velocity listed and work your way up. I see one for the 150gr JHP and one for a 170gr XTP, but no 155.
