I was on the fence between the VZ-24, and the M24/47...
From what I'd gleaned online, it was more likely that the VZ's were going to be in somewhat ratty shape, while the M24/47's were likely to be brandy-new, unfired re-arsenals that had not seen the light of day since the late 40's.

I ordered the M24/47, and my only disappointment was the safety- it clearly indicated the rifle had been unfired since it was rebuilt , because the safety was mismatched and just didn't work , and the rear action screw was too long and you couldn't even run the bolt (that was obviously an easy fix).

The barrel appears to be brand new.
