"Good luck and congrats monkeyfist!
Did you get the full size or commander?
First pistol, man I'm getting old."
Full size. You're not getting old, I just started somewhat late in life.
Shot maybe 170 rounds today without a hiccup.
Actually I did have a hiccup, but probably mine.
A couple of times after the slide locked back after the magazine was empty, I took the magazine out and dry fired it. Then I slid the magazine in and racked the slide and the round never entered the chamber. It did it to me twice. Did I not pull the slide back aggressively enough or something?
edit: just figured it out. The seven round magazine doesn't engage as positively as the 8 round for some reason. It appears I wasn't pushing the magazine up far enough for it to positively click, so it wouldn't chamber a round. Glad I figured that one out!
It worried me that in a SD situation I'd have to worry about that. I plan on keeping the gun in the nightstand with a loaded mag in it, but not cocked and locked. Am I foolish for not keeping it cocked and locked?
