After reading GI SANDIV's post, I looked up those MBUIS things. Never paid any attention to them, but I looked them up, and well... I suppose they might serve a purpose for some folks, but give me the GI type any day for my personal use!

The only GI type I had real heartburn over was a clamp-on front sight made by UTG and sold by Brownell's (shame on them!). What a piece of poop! The underside had terrible burrs from shoddy machining I guess, and the threads where the front sight post screwed in was cross-threaded and wallered out. There was no way another sight could have been put in even after chasing the threads with a tap.

If it were me, yeah, I'd let the fancy things go.
