This isn't the same caliber conversions you're talking about, but my buddy has a .45 suppressor that he uses on a 9mm and a .22 Ruger 10/22. The 10/22 has a bull-barrel which is threaded for the .45 suppressor. Now, we're not talking about the same pressure class, but that .22 is sure quiet. Is it as quite as a dedicated .22 suppressor? The truth is, I don't know. But that I don't know should tell you it's close enough. That's .23" we're talking about there. You're only talking about .088" difference. If it were me, versatility would trump the noise increase. More important than the diameter difference would probably (I'm supposing here) be the loads you used.
