The forend tube is very easy to replace, and the parts are available from Numrich. Remove the barrel, remove the trigger group, remove the bolt carrier, slide the forend tube off the mag tube, remove the nut with a spanner, remove the forearm, then reassemble in reverse order. The forearm nut is staked, but just give it a twist and the staking is gone. Use LocTite when reassembling, it works better than staking.
