I don't know your brass brand or other details? Varget, which is really great in the .308 and .30-06, does not seem to exhibit the same temperature immunity in the .223. Thus, a Varget load in the .223 that groups well at cool temperatures may not do as well in summer weather. Temperature immunity is actually complex, and case and gun geometry get into it, so it may do well for you, even if it doesn't for others.

Most match shooters have claimed better luck with Winchester 748 ball powder for the heavier bullets in .223. In a Winchester case, a common match load is the 69 grain SMK with 24.5 grains of 748 in a Winchester case with Winchester primer. That is a maximum listed load. I find deburring flashholes helps reduce groups with ball powders like this, so I add that step the first time I reload a case that will be used with it. I don't see any improvement from deburred flashholes with stick powders, but they light up more easily.
