I wouldn't use a drill, as it will grab that interior fabric and tear up the interior of your safe.
We take a phillips screwdriver from the back and work it through the fireboard until it's pushing the fabric. Then we go around to the front, and push it through from the inside. This makes a nice clean hole without making a mess of the fabric.
