I've used a lot of #5, but almost all of it was in 9mm and 38 Super. Tried it with 185JHP's in 45ACP, and it gave good velocity with good accuracy. Don't really know how well it works in large capacity cases like the 357 & 44 Mags when loaded to moderate levels. May not burn real clean in that case - guess you're on your own there. I tried lots of different powders looking for light cast bullet 357 and 45 Colt loads; found Red Dot bulked up and gave consistent velocity and accuracy - much more so than most ball-type powders.
