Not in the real world, it matters not whether this person is armed, if you perceive a threat he is a TARGET.

This may just be misinformation on my part or not fully understanding case law, but at least here in TN I seem to understand that anyone in your house that has entered illegally with forced entry is automatically presumed to be a threat and whether they are armed or not doesn't matter due to the castle doctrine.
