I think you're going to find that your .45-70 cases won't lengthen much, if at all, and they may even shrink a little bit.

Low pressure rounds like the .45-70 don't tend to lengthen much.

You may want to give them an initial trim just to make certain that they are all the same length, and then forget about it for a couple of firings.
