That's a good question. The people who write and vote on these bills are so simple minded they fail to see the ramifications of such things on their state.

Loss of gun manufacturers in the state like Remington..
Loss of citizens living in the state who decide to move
Loss of revenue from tourists who refuse to visit state due to absurd laws
Loss of revenue from firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition

All of these things equal less money coming in for the state of NY.

You would think in such tough economic times they would be doing anything they can to EARN revenue for their state, but instead Bloomeberg and these other simple minded buffoons are trying to make a name for themselves.
