I have done this mod on all of my 10/22s. I use a Dremel on the original part, same as Rimrock. Make sure to burnish the edges of the cut. It works well as long as you have the hole enlarged as shown in the right pic. If the hole is simply left flat like the left pic, it can hang up.
You release the bolt by pulling back on it a bit, and the bolt stop drops by spring tension.
