.243 with Sierra HPBT 85 grain. I loaded 5 test loads yesterday at minimum powder level, 33 grains and was pleased. Better accuracy than I expected and the recoil was much nicer than factory loads. I was too cold to shoot more than 5 anyway.
I used IMR-4895 and I know it is probably not optimal in .243, but I can use it for 30.06 as well. Just wanted to stick with one rifle powder to start. I was impressed that it shot so well.
Those were my first rifle loads and they went smooth. Today I plan on loading about 25 more.
