I kept hearing this is unsafe, over and over, so I gave it a try with a second, unloaded 17 just stuck in my waistband, every moment I was home, for over a year and a half, and never once had the trigger drop unless I intentionally pulled it. I didnt baby it either. Even picking it up off the work bench or table, "by" the trigger, failed to get the trigger to drop.
Now Im not saying you cant get it to happen, but if your reasonably prudent in your gun handling, I really dont think its an issue.
Now, with all that said, I still use a good belt and holster, regardless of the type of gun, since its much more secure, and comfortable.
