Carrying in NOLA deserves an update. It seems concerning restaurants that this is applicable to any establishment that sells alcohol (everywhere practically). New Orleans however gives you no indication that it is illegal to carry in a place, like say Texas with 51% or 30.06 signs. My best advice is to stay concealed and stay out of trouble. I carried everywhere I went, as it is too difficult to discern before entering whether you can legally carry or not.

I believe this is why NOLA has unusually high crime rates compared with other gun friendly cities. On the Surface Louisiana looks gun friendly, but since you can't carry anywhere ever that serves alcohol, you pretty much can't ever carry because everywhere in NOLA serves Alcohol so you are basically left with everyone law abiding being disarmed, as everyone plans to eat lunch/dinner.
