Colt Rail Gun.
One of my shooting buddies is a member of the shooting press, he gets to test a lot of guns, and in his words, he'd "climb a mountain of Tauruses to get to a Rock Island." On the other hand, he liked the Colt Rail Gun enough that he bought his test gun.
Though it's not forged, I've been admiring the ATI Thunderbolt. The pricing is not nearly as attractive as a couple of years ago, but still well south of $1000.
