Go to Home Depot, or any place that sells tools. Check out the canvas tool bags. It isn't for everybody, but you can find an assortment of sizes and styles that will work. They are typically cheaper than a bag designed as a range bag and don't scream "guns inside" if someone sees one in your car.
I found this worked better for me.
