I wanted to add that the Hornady Great Plains bullets could be oversized. According to a post on HuntingNet.com, the Hornady .50 Great Plains measures .50 at the base and .510 at the top driving band.

Although they often shoot accurately, others have reported that the Great Plains load tight so maybe the Hornady bullet is the problem.
