I am soon going to swap my sister a weapon for a Taurus model 85 CH.

These are DA only revolvers.

Can anyone tell me if a simple hammer swap will allow me to have a SA/DA revolver, or will OTHER parts need to be switched?

I would suspect the latter, but am asking because the FIRST time I handled this weapon many years ago, I was able to thumb cock the hammer(after starting it DA) and it stayed back and fired SA.

Might have been an anomoly, but it never happened again, and I cannot do it now.
