I have medium to small hands and I can reach the DA pull on my P-01 fine.
Personally I like the rail on the P-01. I have no qualms about using the P-01 for home defense and as such like the rail. I don't find it makes concealing any harder, but I use Crossbreed style holsters if that makes a difference.
