Agreed Gerry. One of my favorite loads is 147gr LFP over 3.3-3.4gr N320 at 1.160". Gets me right at 900fps out of my P89 with minimal flip. More of a "push" as you described. I would go heavier if I could get good projectiles cheaply (not currently setup to cast my own).
