I have a Howa 1500 in .308 win. and I like it, I don't have a Savage to compare to. If it matters, I think all Howa .308 barrels are a 1:12 twist and Savage are 1:10, the heaviest bullet I shoot is 165gr, I would think the Savage would do better with 175-190gr bullets.
