I know in FL, you go in to the LGS, pay $5 for the background check, fill out Form 4413, they call into the FDLE (Florida Dept of Law Enforcement) your information, if approved and you have a CCW, you pay for the gun and leave. If you don't have a CCW, you pay for the gun, wait 3 days and come back and pick up your gun. Usually about 15-30 mins start to finish.
