There is no comparing the two.

The 38 special is weak compared to the 40 S&W.

In velocity with bullet weights considered,the 40 S&W will win everytime.

Compared with the the 357 magnum,it's a much different story.

But the 357 is a cannon to shoot without hearing protection.

Painful.
