Nice revolver to start out with - it dates from 1977. Don't feel bad about paying top dollar - I see very few bargains on nice older Model 17s these days. I know I've never regretted paying what I did for a gun, but there's a long list of guns I regret not buying because of price. As they say, with S&W revolvers you never pay too much, you just buy a bit too soon. (Those links don't work for me, BTW.)
