I purchased my S&W 638 (yes lightweight j-frame) for $400 and absolutely love it...and many can argue the recoil kick, and yes it does kick, but luckily it's a .38 not a .357. However .38 with a standard pressure defense round is 100% manageable (unless your a sissy, whiner or arthritic LOL). I don't really find the +P that bad at all.
