Gotta a hacksaw? I once cut 9" off an old single shot with a pipecutter and a rat-tailed file to clean off the burr on the inside. Looked professional.
If you want to keep the original barrel intact, you should be able to pick up an old junker at a gun show for little or nothing. A straight barrel (no vent rib) makes it alot easier.
