What goes through their heads is the desire to make a profit - just like anyone else
ASKING and GETTING are two different animals - it is always easier for someone to lower their prices (in retail it is called a 'sale', in the restaurant business it is called the 'daily special'), than to realize you priced it too low and want to raise it.
