I never take less than 3 handguns and 2 rifles. sometimes I take as many as 5 each.
as for cleaning 20 minutes each is more than sufficient. If you don't get it clean after solvent, brush, and 3-5 patches then you need to re-evaluate your choice of ammo. I use cast bullets in almost all my weapons and when I see signs of leading I know I need to change something, velocity, bullet composition, or maybe a gascheck is necessary.
