There are not any .380 hollowpoints rounds that can reliably and consistently penetrate 12" of gel, as required in FBI protocols. While not the end all be all in testing, in my opinion it sets a good standard.

Get a .38 spl +p or a 9mm. They are not much bigger at all and offer better performance.
