MetroArms American Classic is a nice peice. Comes with nicer sights than the Rock Island. I bought the Taurus Pt1911 in 9mm for my Dad. He loves it. I would vote for the Taurus. Right at $600 has about everything you would ever want in a 1911. Number 2 would be the Metro.
