I stockpiled ammo years ago just because it was cheap. 223@12-15 cents per round, 7.62X39 @ .10, 7.62X54r surplus @ .08 and Turkish 8mm @ .06 a round. Brit .303 was the hardest to find and most costly @ .19 per round. And I've always reloaded my own handgun ammo except for 7.62X25, which was once both plentiful and cheap to buy. At the rate I've been shooting lately, my supply should outlast me.
