I have a crappy old Phoenix Raven .25 acp that I keep in the center console in my car, kind of like a couple shot derringer if you will. It does shoot, doesn't really malfunction, not good for anything but close up, but I have had people decide they didn't feel like messing with me when they saw me take it out. I bought it in the 90's for like $40 bucks, if there are any left that didn't get turned in for the "cash for guns" things, you might find one. I wouldn't pay much more than $15 or $20 bucks for one though.
