  1. Your personal decision is still your personal decision. There are many ways to learn. You decide how and what you want to learn and how to use your resources.   2. That's all no reason to be critical of, or denigrate, those who have more resources or choose to use their resources differently from you -- such as to acquire certain knowledge or skills.

  3. In any case, this thread isn't really about levels or quantity of training. It's about clearing up a lack of familiarity with currently taught defensive pistolcraft doctrine.
