You're not mis-remembering - in Col. Coopers book he said that if the military absolutely HAD to go to a 9mm "crunchenticker", then the best choice was the CZ-75. Unfortunately, CZ-UB was on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain in the 1908s when we replaced the 1911, so that would have been just slightly impractical...but it is nice that the CZ was the good Colonels "czoice", and not just for the fact that it can be carried cocked and locked.
