I think this thread is a good lesson in the malfunctions of complex mechanical objects. Thanks to SOCOMII for sharing his experience so we can learn as well.

Unfortunately, it seems that either the technology just isn't quite there yet in regard to biometrics and safes, or GunVault is just making junk. Possibly both are true, maybe only one.

I have three key & lock safes in my house, one in my car and I have two daughters, so I have the same concerns as SOCOMII. My keys have never failed me.

Remember, it is more important to gun-proof your kids than it is to kid-proof your guns. When the kids are old enough, teach them the four rules with Eddie Eagle.
