Are you talking about the b-movie/hard R classic; "Hard Ticket To Hawaii"?...

The one film with the WWII soldier sub-plot was decent in my opine.

I'd add that post #20 brings up The Equalizer, a popular crime drama on CBS in the mid 1980s. Robert Macall(Edward Woodward) did tote around a big Desert Eagle but I think it was mostly for PR photos(media releases).
Desert Eagles were shown in Robert's secret armory & he did carry them but if you look closely he packed a large S&W 645 .45acp pistol a lot more than a Desert Eagle. There are details here; www.imfdb.org .

PS; IMDb.com states that the cop thriller; Year of the Dragon was the first Hollywood film to display a IMI Desert Eagle .357magnum.
