I started reloading in 1965. I started out using Lyman dies. I still have some Lyman dies and still use them.
Several "old hands" told me that RCBS was the only way to go. I bought a set of RCBS dies the next time I needed dies. They were, and are, excellent dies, but IMHO they were equal , not superior to Lyman. Over the years, I have used Lee, Hornady, C-H, Bair, Texan and Redding. In my experience all of them are basicaly equal except Lee and Redding. I have found Lee to be very low quality with poor quality control. Redding doies are, IMHO, an order of magnitude better than the others.
