Yes, you did okay with the trade, especially with the gun mania in full swing. Personnally, I don't like them much. The triggers are terrible although can be improved by a good smith. I had a Ruskie once but sold it. It was accurate enough but too heavy for a light caliber rifle, IMO. If you shoot cheap ammo, make sure you clean out the gas port. They will corrode and gum up the works if not cleaned.
