It sounds very manly, but most gunfights are won or lost in a couple of seconds and occur with 20 feet maximum (and usually much less)seperating the folks involved. The chances are quite high that if you're focused on anything other than the gun in your hand, you'll be dead - long before you can think about a weapon (rifle or nuclear bomb) you don't have with you.
