Well the 300 savage is a standard .308 dia. The bullets used in it commonly are anywhere from 100 to 200 grains. I use a 150 grain bullet with imr4895 at 36.6 grains for my gun. I would suggest you work from the starting charge and work up. I use the 150 grain .308 bullet for many rifles so it makes buying in bulk easier.
