Buddy of mine was just telling me of a similar problem he had with a rifle - would shoot 3-4" off on the first shot, things settled in after shooting a couple of shots.

Being the tightwad that he's known to be, and a decent firearms guy to boot, he sent it back to the factory with the targets he shot. Got the rifle back about two weeks later, with only the original stock making the trip back - everything else was replaced. Shoots great now, according to him.

If it's new, contact Remington and talk to Customer Service about it....
