Jack19 is right to a point. If you change it to a 2" barrel the ejector rod will be too long. If you change it to a 3" barrel you should be fine. However why would you mess up a perfectly good defensive revolver? I have a 4" 10HB and love it. I carried mine for a few years as my duty gun and never had a problem with it and it shot to point of aim easily. If you want a shorter barrel get a 10 with a shorter barrel. Also a 4" Model 10HB isn't all that difficult to conceal. All it takes is the right holster and clothing combination. I conceal a 4" Colt Python with no trouble quite regularly.
