Before ya go a honin', check the accuracy of your micrometer. I recently determined my digital (and it's an HF mic, so not high end) was off a couple thousandths consistantly. I was about ready to send a few moulds back. I got out a bunch of jacketed projos and checked against manufacturer claim of OD. Sure enough. I'm finding a new one, but for now, simply closing and zeroing the mic won't do. I have to close and push the claws together a bit tighter, then reset zero. Mine was reading too narrow just like yours.
