I don't have any experience with the LCR but I do have an LC9. I don't find its recoil to be all that bad. I wouldn't want to spend a day at the range with it but I find it pretty comfortable to put 50 or so rounds through it. I also find it pretty easy to pocket carry. I am a fairly large person at 6' tall and 220 pounds though.
