I did not use a heat gun as recommended but I have a torpedo heater in my garage that I would hold parts in front of and it worked better than I could have imagined.
I put 200 rounds through it today with a dozen or so holster presentations and it seemed to do great! There is some wear from the holster in one spot that seems to be from my negligence... I don't think I got all the oil from the particular spot. The rails that contact the slide that receive constant friction did not wear at all though!
