I’m looking for information regarding Magpul stocks and DPMS’s LR-308s. I’m aware that Armalite’s AR-10s have longer buffer tubes than AR-15s, and while stocks made for AR-15s can fit on Armalite’s AR-10s there will be about half an inch of buffer tube sticking out of the rear of the AR-15 stock. I had an FFL holder order me a
DPMS 308 Recon (not here yet
), which comes with what appears to be a standard Magpul MOE butt stock.
My questions are:
1. How long are DPMS LR-308 buffer tubes in comparison to AR-15 and Armalite’s AR-10 buffer tubes?
2. Is the (what appears to be a normal) Magpul MOE stock on the 308 Recon likely to have any extra buffer tube stick out of the rear of the MOE stock when fully collapsed?
