Is the barrel vent ribbed with removable chokes? If so, then very likely you do have an overbored barrel (they come that way from the factory on the 835). If you have a plain barrel with bead only, or a smoothbore or rifled slug barrel with rifle sights, then it's not overbored. Actually, I'm not so certain that the plain 18.5" cyl/bead barrel isn't either. Never held one of those specimens first hand.

The 535 on the other hand is a 3.5" chambered 500 basically and is not overbored from the factory.
