You're right, I missed that subtle point.
Ladysmiths had a cryptic and nonstandard barrel rollmark that said
*.22 S&W CTG.* This was part of an early 20th-century attempt to sell "special" S&W-branded ammo that was actually regular .22 Long. Unfortunately, the nonstandard marking has resulted in many irreversibly damaged Ladysmiths, since the guns are capable of chambering .22LR.
